find is about the illusion of repetition—remembering, altering, trying to hold on.

Electronics:

The electronics are controlled using a MaxMSP patch. The electronics consist of live processing and a main fixed audio part triggered at the beginning of the piece. The performer triggers events with a foot pedal. When the audio part starts, the clock in the patch also starts to allow for the performer to coordinate large sections with the fixed media. Other elements of the electronics capture the live viola sound and create a spectral freeze.

  • a Macbook Pro running Max8

  • a DPA 4061 (or similar) microphone for amplification/processing of viola

  • a midi foot pedal

  • speakers

  • an audio interface

  • a stage monitor
