Commissioned by Jesse Blumberg & Johanna Novom on the occasion of their marriage, duration 6’
of moments was written for my dear friends Johanna and Jesse to celebrate their union in Camden, Maine. This series of commissions is tied together through the use of text by the American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay. My setting uses lines or phrases from the poems, reordered and compiled as love songs. As with any relationship, from the outside we only ever see fragments. However, pieced together through time, these moments can reveal love: joyful, enduring, always.
